The following statement can be attributed to Jeff Nobers, executive director of Pittsburgh Works Together:
Next week’s summit will bring together global leaders in government, energy, artificial intelligence, innovation, and investment. Pittsburgh has assets to deliver the future that no other place on earth can match: The top-rated AI school in the world in Carnegie Mellon University, and the natural gas reserves that can provide the power necessary for the future of AI. These strategic advantages can lead to a brighter economic future for the entire Pittsburgh region, bringing jobs and increased prosperity to our community.
The summit, however, is just the precursor. Success will not happen by itself. Our elected officials – local, state and federal – and our best equipped economic and community development organizations must immediately find common ground and work with purpose, tirelessly, to ensure this opportunity becomes reality.
Pittsburgh Works Together is a business-organized labor-workforce-economic development alliance working to grow jobs and expand the industries that are the foundation of our economy, including energy, manufacturing, and construction, to provide opportunity for all residents.
